The town hall meeting on Wednesday was a rousing good time. The hall was packed to standing room only and was attended by politicians from all levels of government, including recently elected MPs Sukh Dhaliwal and Dona Cadman. Panelists detailed how the South Fraser Perimeter Road is simply not needed, and far from a “done deal” – in part due to the shakiness of such grandiose P3 projects in the current economic climate.
Even with an open microphone, there was no support at the forum for Gateway – people were united in their opposition. The mood was further amplified with word that citizens in Mission had mobilized at public hearings against the controversial Silverdale development there.
